Why we limit who can buy

The Carestream Dental RVG 6200 is a dental intraoral X-ray imaging sensor regulated by the US Food and Drug Administration as a prescription device. Prescription devices may be sold only to, or on the order of, practitioners licensed by state law to use them. We follow this rule for every order.

Who can buy

• Licensed dentists and dental specialists in the United States.
• Dental practices, dental service organizations, clinics and hospitals.
• Dental schools and accredited training programs.
• Office managers, purchasing staff and distributors ordering on behalf of a licensed practitioner or practice.

How verification works

By placing an order, you confirm that the purchase is made by or on the order of a licensed practitioner. For some orders we'll ask for the prescribing practitioner's name, state license number and licensing state, or for the practice's name and address. We check this against public state licensing records. If we can't verify an order, we'll cancel it and refund it in full. Verification information is handled under our privacy policy.

Your responsibilities after purchase

• Install and use the sensor according to the manufacturer's user guide.
• Comply with federal and state radiation-safety rules, including any registration required for your X-ray generator.
• Follow infection-control practices: use a new hygienic sheath for every patient and disinfect only with products approved in the user guide.
• Report serious device problems to the manufacturer, and you may also report them to the FDA through the MedWatch program.
